Why We Paid July Salaries, Pensions Early-Oyo Govt
The Oyo State government, today, paid the July salaries and pensions of public workers, retires and political functionaries in the state in order to ensure a smooth and happy Sallah celebrations.
The state government made this known in a release by Taiwo Adisa, the media aide of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, noting that civil servants in the state began to get their salary alerts early on Friday.
The governor’s aide said the early payment of the salaries and pensions was in continuation of the government’s commitment to ensuring that workers celebrate festivities with ease.
He recalled that a similar development took place last December, when workers received their December salaries and pensions on 16th of the month, ahead of the Christmas celebrations.
Adisa further said: “The payment is in continuation of the commitment of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration to ensuring that workers are always happy. This is the governor’s way of ensuring that workers enjoy a smooth Eid-el-Kabir celebration.”
