Osun State governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has approved the appointment of principal officers for the state-owned University of Ilesa.
The approval was contained in the letters of appointments issued to the principal officers by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Honourable Teslim Igbalaye, today.
The approval was contained in a release by the spokesperson to Governor Adeleke, Mallam Olawale Rasheed.
The SSG, who also hosted the appointees in his office, charged them to uphold virtue of professionalism and integrity.
The two virtues, he said, endeared them to the state governor and informed their recommendations for the appointments.
The newly-appointed principal officers for the University of Ilesa included Professor Taiwo Olufemi Asaolu (Vice Chancellor); Mr. Funso Olawale Ojo (Registrar); Dr. Mukaila Oyesegun Oyekanmi (Bursar) and Mr. Adewale Amobi Ogunsipe (Librarian).
Taiwo Asaolu, a professor of Accounting and Finance, is also a Fellow (FCA) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
The new vice chancellor of the institution is a former Dean, Faculty of Administration, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Osun State.
Professor Asaolu was the chairman of the University of Ilesa Review Committee earlier set up by Governor Adeleke to address all outstanding issues for the eventual take off of the university.
