Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, Jagunmolu Olubadan of Ibadanland, has sympathised with the Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Comrade Demola Babalola, on the demise of his mother, Alhaja Wulemotu Aweni Babalola.
Sanusi, Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, expressed his condolences in a statement he personally signed and issued on Sunday.
The Oyo NUJ Chairman had, early Sunday morning, announced the passage of his mother, at the age of 76 years
“We announce with deep sorrow the passing of our mother, Mama Wulemot Aweni Babalola. A matriarch of Muraina Oladiti Babalola’s family, mama passed on, on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the age of 76 years,” he stated in a release.
He also announced that the remains of his late mother would be buried at the family house at Olorunsogo-Akanran Road, by 4pm today, according to Islamic rites.
The statement by Dotun Sanusi reads: “It is with a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences to the chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council, Demola Babalola, on the passing of his cherished mother, Alhaja Wulemotu Aweni Babalola.
“In this time of profound grief, I wish to convey my heartfelt sympathies to Mr. Babalola and the entire family.
“Losing a mother is an indescribable sorrow, and our thoughts and prayers are with them as they navigate this painful period.
“Alhaja Wulemotu’s legacy of love, resilience, and kindness will forever live on through the lives she touched.
“May Almighty Allah grant her eternal rest and provide comfort and strength to her family. As we join hands to support them, may we find inspiration in her life and work toward building a society grounded in compassion and humanity.
“Once again, please accept my heartfelt condolences.”
Chief Sanusi urged all well-wishers to join in honouring the life of Alhaja Wulemotu Aweni Babalola, a woman whose impact, he said, will be long remembered within and beyond her community.
