Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged the Minister of Blue Marine Economy, Alhaji Gboyega Oyetola and the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, to now to the will of the people, ahead of the governorship election scheduled to hold in the state on 15 August, 2026.
The Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation gave the advice to Oyetola and Oyebamiji in a press release, tagged “August 15th: Bow to the Will of Osun People” and dated 11 April, 2026.
The Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation issued the release in reaction to alleged leaked threats by some top Osun APC leaders to create post-election chaos, if Governor Adeleke eventually wins the governorship election.
The organisation claimed that Oyetola, the immediate past governor of the state, the APC governorship candidate, Oyebamiji and the Osun APC leadership were already experiencing frustration over the yet-to-be conducted election.
It stated that the alleged leaked conversations was a confirmation of an acknowledgement by the osun APC leadership that the incumbent governor was set to win the 15 August election by over 200,000 vote margin.
“We however strongly scold the APC caucus leaders engaged in the leaked conversations for their deepening delusion of fighting the people, even when they lack political insurance that can only be provided by God and man.
“Having admitted that Governor Adeleke has the mass support of the people and having expressed frustration at the likelihood of the governor winning the August 15 polls, we task Mr Oyetola and his boy, Mr Oyebamiji, to bow to the will of Osun people and wait till 2030 to try their luck again,” it was stated in the release.
The Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation further alleged that the Osun APC leadership was seeking to manipulate electoral officials and plotting to announce fake results.
It declared that such plots are a failed tactic, even before they start, adding: “A level-playing field will be enforced and free and fair elections will hold in Osun State, whether Mr Oyetola likes it or not.”
The organisation warned that a mass revolt from the people awaited individuals or groups that would want to create chaos after the election and the victory of Governor Adeleke.
“The people of Osun State will not only vote but will also protect the integrity and sanctity of their votes.
“We call on the people of Osun State to rise in defence of democracy and their rights to vote and be voted for.
“Organise yourself across voting units, wards and local governments and protect good governance and dividends of democracy,” the Ademola Adeleke Campaign Organisation added in the release.
