Grassroots Musicians In Solidarity With Sanwo-Olu
A group of grass roots musicians has sent goodwill messages to Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, in support of his developmental strides and empowerment programmes in the state.
Most of the musicians, who have been in the Lagos music scene for over 10 years and now in their 30’s and 40’s, were at the state Ministry of Culture and Tourism in a solidarity rally for the governor.
The group, led by Adeleke Agboola (aka Handsome Leke Jummy) and Jare Adebayo, a popular highlife and juju artiste in the state, were received by the Special Adviser (Tourism, Arts and Culture), Mr Solomon Bonu, Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mrs Adenike Ajayi and some directors, including Mrs Adanma Oni and Mrs Simpson.
Members of the group said they gathered to support the governor out of admiration and love for him and assured him of their commitment to building a robust understanding between his administration and the people of the state, through music.
They described Governor Sanwo-Olu as a role model and father-figure to youths in the state and urged him not to be deterred by the recent negative occurences in Lagos.
They applauded the governor for what they said is his persistence and track-record of integrity and assured that truth and trust shall soon prevail for the betterment of the people of the state, particularly the aggrieved youths.
Dressed in EkoSanwOrin branded tops, they showed their unflinching support and readiness to march with Sanwo-Olu for peace and unity in Lagos State as they all chorused a special song for the governor.
