Aribasoye, Ekiti Lawmaker, Dedicates Life To Serving Humanity
A member of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Honourable Adeoye, Aribasoye, has pledged to dedicate the rest of his life to serving humanity and help to reduce the scourge of poverty in the land.
The lawmaker representing Ikole Constituency II made the pledge in a statement commemorating his birthday today, saying experiences of over four decades had taught him a lesson that serving humanity, especially the poor, remains the most profitable and rewarding venture.
The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state said his quest to serve humanity had its roots in his Christian background, campus activism, becoming a lawyer and a human rights activist.
Aribasoye, in the statement, said all the stated factors made him to recognise and appreciated early enough that the best and most rewarding investment is that of human capital development.
He thanked his political mentor and the state governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, for grooming him in the art of progressive politics that has launched him to fame, stardom.
Aribasoye said: “Let me appreciate God for sparing my life till today. I thank God for his glory and for giving me the opportunity to realise early enough that doing good to humanity develops a society faster than we ever imagined.
“My pupillage as a politically-conscious youth started during my days in the university when I risked my life, certificate and other pleasurable moments to fight for students’ rights.
“I later became a lawyer and started defending the defenceless in the society, so that we can have an environment bereft of harassment, brutalisation and brazen infringement of human rights l.
“To expand the scope of my human rights protection expedition, I joined partisan politics and I was opportune to stand on the shoulders of giants in Governor Kayode Fayemi and wife, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, who taught and imbued me with the spirit of progressive politics.
“I consider myself lucky learning politics and act of governance at the feet of a resourceful, respectful, receptive, responsive, responsible and intellectually-inclined cum savvy leader like Governor Fayemi.
“Fayemi’s concept of leadership and service is building humanity and that we are consolidating on this to move Ekiti to that point that we could all be proud of in terms of Infrastructure face-lifting, human capital development and a place where poverty will be history and where every child will be given the unfettered opportunity to realise his dream regardless of background,” he said.
Aribasoye applauded the APC and his constituents for offering him a platform to advance his course of service to humanity, via his election as a member of the state House of Assembly.
