The Tomiwa Aregbesola Foundation will, tomorrow, roll out its maiden empowerment initiative tomorrow in Akure, Ondo State.
The empowerment initiative is slated to hold at the Babafunke Ajasin Hall, Ministry of Women Affairs, Alagbaka, Akure
President of the Foundation, Mr. Tomiwa Aregbesola, said the empowerment initiative was borne out of a desire to engender economic empowerment, capacity building and social inclusion.
He said beneficiaries were drawn from various local government areas in the state.
Aregbesola added that the initiative was conceived to encourage youth, drive economic inclusion and self reliance.
He listed the equipment to include sewing machines, hairdressing equipment, laptop computers, clippers and other equipment for trained barbers and embroidery machines.
Also, wife of the president of the Foundation, Mrs. Ololade Aregbesola, would lend support through the empowerment of 50 widows with cash support and fabrics.
Meanwhile, a training institute -St Gabriel Skill Acquisition and Empowerment Foundation- had earlier trained the beneficiaries in various skills.
They were trained in barbing, Information and Communication Technology, hairdressing and sewing, among others.
The empowerment programme is expected to attract dignitaries, including Executive Director, Corporate Services, Nigeria Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, as Special Guest of Honour.
