Ajayi Crowther University (ACU) will, on Wednesday, inaugurate the fifth Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the institution, Professor (Mrs) Ebunoluwa Olufemi Oduwole, FNAL.
Professor Oduwole succeeded the immediate past VC of the institution, Professor Timothy Adebayo, whose tenure ended at the end of September.
As contained in a programme of the event, released by the institution, the inauguration of Professor Oduwole will hold at the Crowther Hall, by 11:00a.m.
The ceremony is expected to have in attendance distinguished academics, traditional rulers, members of the university community, and friends of the institution.
The event will be presided over by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council, Dr. Olutoyin Okeowo, who will formally confer the duties and responsibilities of office on the new VC.
Professor Oduwole, described by the Governing Council as a seasoned academic and administrator, is widely regarded as bringing a fresh vision to ACU.
The new ACU VC is expected to outline her administration’s priorities, including raising academic standards, expanding research opportunities, and deepening industry and international partnerships.
“I accept this honour with humility and dedication. My administration will focus on raising academic standards.
“It will ficus fostering innovation, and building strong partnerships that place Ajayi Crowther University at the forefront of higher education in Nigeria and beyond,” Oduwole affirmed ahead of her inauguration.
The Deputy VC, Professor Olumuyiwa Popoola, who chairs the Ceremonials Committee, is overseeing the coordination of the programme.
Venerable Olusegun Olumuyiwa Ojo, Acting Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council, is managing guest arrangements.
ACU authorities describe the inauguration as a landmark moment that signals a new chapter in Ajayi Crowther University’s pursuit of holistic education grounded in moral and spiritual values.
