Wizkid, Burma Boy, Femi Kuti, Made Kuti, Nominated For 2022 Grammys
Four Nigerian musicians, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Femi Kuti and Made Kuti have been nominated for the 2022 edition of the prestigious Grammy Awards.
The four nominees for the 2022 Grammy Awards were announced by the Recording Academy in a live stream, on Tuesday.
Wizkid was nominated in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ category with ‘Essence’, his collaborative song with Tems, while his ‘Made In Lagos’ was also nominated for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.
Burna Boy was also nominated for the 2022 Grammy Awards in the ‘Best Global Music Performance’ for ‘Do Yourself’, his collaborative work with Angelique Kidjo.
Femi Kuti’s ‘Pa Pa Pa’ was also nominated in the category while his album with Made Kuti, ‘Legacy +’, was nominated for the ‘Best Global Music Album’ category.
Wizkid and Burna Boy were 2021 Grammy Awards winners; Wizkid’s work in Beyonce’s ‘Brown Skin Girl’s won the ‘Best Music Video’s, while Burna Boy become the first Afrobeats musician to win a Grammy with his ‘Twice As Tall’ album.
The main event of the 2022 Grammy Awards will be aired by the CBS Television Network on 31 January, 2022, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT.
