The Union Baptist Church, Ekotedo, Ibadan, Oyo State has commenced a week-long activity to celebrate its 80th Anniversary.
Chairman of the Anniversary Committee, Deacon T. O. P. Adewale, disclosed this in a release, tagged “Union Baptist Church Celebrates 80 Years Of God’s Goodness.”
The 80th anniversary, as stated in the release, marked eight decades of spiritual growth, community outreach and unwavering commitment of Gospel.
The Union Baptist Church, founded in 1945, has been serving as a place of worship, refuge and thanksgiving for generations.

“This milestone is not just about looking back”, said Rev. Babalola, “it’s about giving thanks for God’s faithfulness, honouring those who came before us, and renewing our commitment to serve our community with love and hope.
It was stated in the release that the 80 Anniversary included a week of events, inclusive of the thanksgiving service held on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at the church auditorium.
On Tuesday, July 22, there will be a visit to Children of Promise Orphanage Home, Bashorun, Ibadan.
Prayers and a revival service will hold on Wednesday, followed by a medical outreach on Thursday.
The momentous activities would peak on Saturday, 26 July with the launching of a ₦100m Appeal Fund for Union Baptist College.
This would be followed with presentation of awards and an in memoriam service for departed members of the church.
And finally, the Anniversary Thanksgiving will be held on Sunday 27 July where the President of Nigerian Baptist Convention (NBC) the Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji will be ministering.
