Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command have rejected attempt by a suspected serial killer to bribe them with the sum of One Million Naira to effect his release.
The suspected serial killer was said to be a member of a notorious ritualist syndicate alleged to have killed and dismembered the body of one Oyindamola Adeyemi at Ijebu Ode on 28 January, 2023.

The suspect, 35-year old Ifasoji Ayangbesan, allegedly offered the One Million Naira bribe to the police following his arrest.
He was apprehended following a painstaking intelligence-based investigation by detectives from Obalende Divisional Police Headquarters.
The operatives, through the investigation, were able to trace him to his hideout at the Ijade Iloti Area of Ijebu Ode where he was eventually arrested.
The other members of the notorious serial killer syndicate had earlier been arrested by the police.
The suspected serial killer, Ifasoji Ayangbesan, was alleged by the arrested members of the syndicate to be the person who bought the two legs of the victim.
He however took flight immediately he heard that he has been indicted by his colleagues.
However, the state police authority has been on his trail since with the intent to bring him to book, SP Oyeyemi stated.
“Since then, the DPO Obalende Division, SP Murphy Salami, has detailed his detectives to be on his trail with the view to arrest him and possibly recover the deceased’s two legs from him and prosecute him with his colleagues in crime.
“Luck however ran against him when he was apprehended at his Ijade Iloti hideout on the 28th of April 2023.
“Immediately he was arrested, the suspect made an offer of one million naira bribe to the policemen, which was rejected.
“On interrogation, he confessed been part of the syndicate that killed Oyindamola Adeyemi.
“He also confessed that he was the person who severe the two legs of the deceased which he claimed he used for ritual purpose,” Oyeyemi added.
Meanwhile, the state Commissioner of Police, Olanrewaju Yomi Oladimeji, has commended his men for their uprightness.
He also directed that the suspect be transferred to State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID ) for prosecution, along with other members of his syndicate.
