Twelve more state government-owned tertiary institutions have submit student data to the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND), increasing the number from the 36 earlier announced to 48.
The increment was contained in a press release by the NELFUND Head of Media and Public Relations, Nasir Ayitogo, 10 July, 2024.
He further stated that the expansion was a result of the successful submission and verification of data completeness and accuracy required from the institutions.
“The Management of Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) is delighted to announce the onboarding of an additional 12 state government-owned tertiary institutions to the student loan application portal.
“This expansion comes following the successful submission and verification of data completeness and accuracy required from the institutions.
“With this latest addition, the total number of participating state government-owned tertiary institutions has now increased from the initial 36 announced earlier to 48.
“Students data from 121 institutions is outstanding,” the NELFUND Head of Media and Public Relations stated in the release.
Meanwhile, NELFUND Managing Director, Mr Akintunde Sawyerr, has expressed gratitude to all who have submitted their data so far.
Sawyerr paid a courtesy call on the governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday. He gave special recognition to the governor for what he described as his exemplary leadership in this regard.
NELFUND urged all institutions that are yet to submit their students data to the Student Verification Portal (SVS) of the Fund to kindly do so to enable their students benefit from the scheme.
It also urged states whose data has been captured and successfully uploaded to urgently sensitise their students to apply. This, it stated, was to bring succour to students who are struggling financially and also bring guaranteed revenue to the institutions.
NELFUND also stated in the release that students from the following state government-owned tertiary institutions can now visit www.nelf.gov.ng to apply for the loan:
