Forum Lauds Makinde For Creating 4 Additional Post-Primary Zones
The governor of Oyo State, Engineer ‘Seyi Makinde, has been lauded by a forum of retired permanent secretaries for creating four additional zones for post-primary school education administration in the state.
The new zones, including Kisi, Iseyin, Ibadan II and IV, came on stream about last quarter of 2020 after Governor Makinde approved their establishment to join the existing six in the state post-primary School Teaching Service Commission.
The body of the Forum of Retired Permanent Secretaries, Schools’ Administration (FOPSSA) commended the governor for the initiative.
It described the initiative, alongside the appointment of Permanent Secretaries/Tutors General for each of the four zones as another ingenious masterstroke by the Makinde-led administration.
The forum noted, in a statement jointly signed by its chairman, Chief A. A. Adelakun and secretary, Rev. Canon D. O. Makinde, that it would help to strengthen and uplift standards, not only in that tier, but also the education sector in the state generally.
The forum also lauded Governor Makinde for what it called his administration’s benevolence, humanity and regard for the welfare of workers and retirees, especially through prompt payment of their salaries and pensions.
It enjoined all public servants in the state to reciprocate the gesture by improving on their productivity and giving loyal service.
