The demise of Mr Paul Omotoso, the chairman of the Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has been described as sudden, shocking and unfortunate.
A former Chief Whip of the state House of Assembly, Honourable Olufemi Adeleye, stated this in a statement he issued in reaction to the passage of the APC chieftain.
The former lawmaker stated in the statement that he received with a deep shock the news of the sudden demise of the late Omotoso.
He described the deceased as not only a dedicated party leader, but also a pillar of strength within the political landscape in Ekiti State.
“I received with deep shock the news of the sudden demise of our party chairman, Mr Paul Omotoso. I spoke with him two weeks ago and we were suppose to meet this Saturday. Unfortunately, this is not meant to be. God knows best.
“The Ekiti State chairman of the APC, Mr Omotoso, was not only a dedicated leader within our party but also a pillar of strength within the political landscape in the state.
“Mr Omotoso’s contributions to the progress of APC and the development of Ekiti State and her people will always be remembered and cherished.
“His unwavering commitment to the ideals of democracy and social justice in the state will also not be forgotten. His untimely passing has left us all in a state of profound grief.
“Mr Omotoso’s leadership and dedication will be surely missed. But his legacy will continue to inspire us all as we strive to honor his memory and uphold the values he stood for,” he stated.
Honourable Adeleye commiserated with the immediate family of the deceased, the state governor and leaders and members of the state chapter of the APC.
“My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and loved ones in which the APC family is one of them. We all have to take heart during this incredibly difficult time.
“I express my profound condolence to the Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, for the great loss of this reputable Ekiti son. I also commiserate with all our party members for this great loss.
“May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace,” the former Chief Whip of the Ekiti State House of Assembly added in the statement.
