The late Fuji Music icon, Chief Dr Sikiru Ayinde Agbajelola (aka Barrister) will come alive as his fans around the world celebrate his memory, this weekend.
Global fans of the late Fuji musician will converge on Ibadan, the hometown of Barrister, to celebrate his posthumous 74th birthday tomorrow and Sunday.
In what has been tagged ‘Barry Fest’, the celebration of the birthday of the Fuji Icon would, among others, feature a Gala Night and Musical Carnival at Ilaji Resort, Akanran.
Chairman of the Organising Committee, Mr Olaide Olawumi, disclosed that notable fuji musicians have signified intention to be part of the event.
“It is going to be a befitting programme in memory of the man who was so creative to bring out fuji genre from different indigenous brands,” he said.
In the same vein, the Organising Secretary of the event, Alhaji Ademola Adesigbin, also assured invited guests of a fun-filled occasion befitting Barrister.
He thanked ardent fans of the late Fuji Music icon for keeping faith with Barrister and for their strong commitment and sacrifice towards the event.
“We give kudos to all fans’ clubs for their trust in the committee and their individual contributions to the success we have recorded so far,” Adesigbin said.
