The 2025 National Convention of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will hold as scheduled in Ibadan, Oyo State from Saturday, 15th to Sunday, 16th November, contrary to a report that it has been postponed.
The PDP National Working Committee (NWC) and the 2025 National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) made the clarification in a press release, signed Hon. Debo Ologunagba, the PDP National Publicity Secretary and Publicity Secretary, Communication Sub-Committee (NCOC).
The PDP NWC and the NCOC therefore urged party members and Nigerians in general to disregard misleading claims being peddled to the contrary by some individuals.
The party further disclosed that those individuals peddling the contrary claims were allegedly “recruited by the All Progressives Congress (APC) in its failed attempt to stop the PDP National Convention.
“We are aware of the plots by the APC to destabilise the opposition and impose a one-party state in the country; a design that will be lawfully resisted.
“The NCOC and the party will continue to work assiduously round the clock to ensure a successful National Convention in Ibadan, as scheduled,” it was stated in the statement.
It was further revealed that party leaders, officials and all supporters of the PDP have already started arriving in Ibadan, ahead the National Convention.
The party leadership thanked Nigerians for their overwhelming support for the PDP, assuring that the party remains committed to ensuring the defeat of the APC in the 2027 elections.
