Honourable Aderemi Oseni has said President Bola Tinubu is implementing various legacy projects that will ensure sustainable economic prosperity.
He declared that the president remained committed to ensuring effective transportation, aided by motorable roads all over the country.
The lawmaker also asserted that the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-West will deliver nothing less than 10 million votes for the re-election of Tinubu in 2027.
The chairman, House Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA) and lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido Federal Constituency of Oyo State at the House of Representatives, stated these in a statement, on Friday.
Oseni President Tinubu for what he described as his massive investment in road rehabilitation and reconstruction.
He said “having traversed the length and breadth of the country as the Chairman House Committee on FERMA, there was no denying the fact that the present administration is doing a lot to lay a solid foundation for a recalibrated Nigeria that will show the way forward for the Continent of Africa.”
Oseni stated that, unfortunately, the opposition party would rather keep their blind eyes to the significant progress being made by the Tinubu administration and focus on the challenges to gain acceptability, warning Nigerians to beware of such unprogressive antics.
He stated that, with lots of ongoing diverse development initiatives as well as those mapped out for implementation, there is no denying the fact that a new and prosperous Nigeria that will lead the way forward for the African Continent is on the horizon.
Oseni stated that, in the course of performing the oversight function, he and other members of the committee had traveled around the country and had been privileged to be confronted with numerous infrastructural upgrades being done by the present administration to change the poor narration.
He explained further that even FERMA had improved significantly with more budgetary allocation and support from the government, adding that he and his colleagues were across the country, helping to solve the challenge of the poor road network.
“We have been to nearly all states where the Federal Government is either rehabilitating or reconstructing federal roads.
“This assignment has also given us the opportunity to see other road infrastructure projects that the Federal Government has been executing across the federation.
“Our findings clearly show that Nigeria is in transition from the period of disparate road infrastructure to an era of linking our economy to the development of strategic transport infrastructure projects.
“We have seen existing federal roads undergoing either massive rehabilitation or outright reconstruction, both in the North and South,” Oseni stated.
He added: “We have also seen the speed at which the President Bola Tinubu administration is implementing legacy projects – Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway and Sokoto-Badagry Superhighway.
“Also, the resolve of this administration to reconstruct the Ibadan-Ilesa-Akure-Benin Highway is one of such purpose-driven road development projects
“We are also privy to diverse initiatives the administration has been taking to connect all states of the federation together.
“These initiatives, for me, are based on the conviction of the
administration that effective transportation is the lifeblood of every economy.
“From what we have witnessed so far and diverse development initiatives already mapped out for implementation, I can tell you categorically that this administration is laying the foundation of a new Nigeria, a truly recalibrated federation founded on a competitive economy, efficient governance structure and functional infrastructure.”
Oseni regretted that the opposition is not recognising the volume of good work the present administration is doing to change the poor narration noted with the country.
He added that it is the duty of all patriotic Nigerians to ensure that these regressive forces fail again in 2027.
He said set up the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends as a dynamic, non-political, non-religious, and non-ethnic forum to bring together like-minded individuals in Oyo State to continually work for the greatness of the nation and provide, at least, 10 million votes across the South-West for the re-election of Tinubu in 2027.
“For the record, ROCOF is not a rival to the APC. Rather, it is a movement of like-minded individuals seeking the rebirth of an Oyo State and Nigeria where justice reigns, where equity becomes an order.
“It is for where accountability is our culture; where we commit all to good governance; where shared prosperity is a right of every citizen, and sustainable development remains the cornerstone of our goals.
“That is what ROCOF stands for, and we have started mobilising our people for continuous voter registration ahead of the 2027 general election.
“At ROCOF, we have no fewer than 200,000 members who share our vision for the rebirth of Oyo State and who are also committed to the re-election of President Bola Tinubu across political divides.
“Unlike 2023 when Nigeria recorded only 26.72 per cent voter turnout in the general election, our vision is to change the narratives; educate our people to register for PVCs and encourage them to perform their civic duty during the electioneering,” Oseni stated.
He went further: “In the South-West alone, we have a vision to achieve at least 75 per cent voter turnout and ensure APC secures nothing less than 10 million votes in the presidential election.
“Gentlemen of the Press, the journey to 2027 has already started with continuous voter registration.
“Regardless of the eruption of emotion by the opposition parties that frittered away precious opportunities we once had as a country, we will leverage the gains of our reforms to mobilise support for the APC and ensure it secures a landslide not just in Oyo State and South-west, but also Nigeria at large.”
Oseni also hinted of his desire to succeed Governor ‘Seyi Makinde as the governor of Oyo State, if God and his party, the APC, permit.
““This is, however, not a do-or-die affair. The governorship race is not a tea party; it involves lots of things and dialogue. I know, in the couple of months to come, the coast will be clearer, and I will always go by the decision of the party,” he added.
