Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, the Ajia Olubadan, has extended his heartfelt sympathy to Yinka Ayefele, MON and Management of Fresh 105.9FM, Ibadan over fire incident that gutted studios of the station and Blast 98.3FM on Friday night.
Sanusi, who is the Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort as well Ilaji FM, also sympathised with the staff and fans of the two stations affected by the inferno.
“I extend my deepest sympathies to my brother, Dr Joel Yinka Ayefele, Management and Staff of his tadio stations.
“Though the damage were significant but we thank Almighty God that no life was lost in the inferno.
Key equipment destroyed as fire gutted the Ibadan-based Music House, housing both Fresh FM and Blast 98.3FM radio stations, on Friday evening.
Samson Akindele, Group Head Corporate Affairs of Fresh FM Nigeria and Yinka Ayefele Limited, said the studios of Fresh 105.9 and Blast 98.3FM, along with nearby offices including the newsroom and transmitter/server room, were badly damaged.
He stated in a statement that efforts to contain the incident, using in-house extinguishers failed due to the intensity of the inferno before professional firefighters arrived.
He thanked residents, passers-by, and the Oyo State Fire Service officials for their assistance during the emergency, noting that the full extent and cause of the damage are still being assessed.
“We are sad to inform the general public that the Head Office of Fresh FM Nigeria, Challenge – Ibadan was razed by a devastating fire incident this evening, August 15, 2025.
“In the ensuing mishap, the studios of Fresh 105.9FM and Blast 98.3FM were badly burnt, with proximal offices like the newsroom, the transmitter/server room and several equipment that got razed during active operations.
“All efforts to fight the fire, before the arrival of the professional fire fighters, with our in-house fire extinguishers proved abortive because of the strength of the inferno,” he added.
