Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi hosted the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Oyo State chapter, as it held its annual prayer for Nigeria at the Ilaji Resort International Mini Stadium.
The event, hosted by Sanusi, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland and Chairman of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, drew Christian groups from all 33 local government areas of the state.
Dotun Sanusi is one of the top contenders, seeking to take over the governorship seat of Oyo State at the expiration of the second term tenure of the incumbent governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, in 2027.
The gathering was marked by intense praise and worship as Oyo State CAN Chairman, Apostle Col. (rtd) Joshua Sola Akinyemiju, led a special prayer for Nigeria, which was the central focus of the event.
In addition to prayers for Nigeria, Bishop Daniel Oluwajimade, Director of State Issues and Coordinator of Social Welfare for CAN Oyo State, offered a heartfelt prayer for Governor ‘Seyi Makinde and for Chief Dotun Sanusi
He prayed over the governorship ambition of Sanusi in 2027 and also for divine guidance and blessings for both leaders.
Notable dignitaries also shared their goodwill messages, including Mr Ajeniyi Ajewole, President General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigene (CCII), representing Oba Kamorudeen JP, Oniladuntan of Laduntan.
Other prominent faces at the prayer event included Hon. Gbenga Adewusi Arole, a former local government chairman and Hon. Kazeem Ibrahim, the immediate past chairman of Lagelu Local Government Area.
The event was coordinated and anchored by Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade. It provided a spiritually enriching experience.
It also underscored the commitment of the people of the Ilaji Community to praying for the leadership and prosperity of Nigeria and Oyo State.
