Divisional Police Officer at Warewa Police Station, Ogun State, on Thursday, sighted and rescued two young boys along the Long Bridges, outward Lagos.
The state PPRO, CSP Omolola Odutola, stated this in a statement on Friday.
The two young boys, Awali Abdulrazak (height 5.6 ft) and (Aliu Abdulrasheed (height 5.5 ft), were both 15 years old.
The two boys are said to be currently in the custody of the law enforcement agency in the state.
They were said to have been sighted at about 05:55 hrs on Thursday, without a clear sense of their destination.
“Concerned for their safety, the police accosted them for questioning and, upon interrogation, the boys identified themselves.
“The boys, dark in complexion, stated they were trekking to Oloje, Ilorin, Kwara State.
“Their responses were coherent, and they communicated fluently both in Yoruba and English languages,” it was stated in the statement.
The state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed that the two boys should be given medical care and welfare support.
“Efforts are ongoing to trace their parents or guardians,” it was added in the statement.
