Executive Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), Zacch Adedeji, Ph.D has congratulated Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, on his 90th birthday, saying his wealth of experience was showing in his administration.
He further also acknowledged the development strides of the foremost Ibadan traditional ruler since ascending the throne.
Adedeji stated in a statement by his Technical Assistant (Media), Sikiru Akinola, that despite advancing in age, the Olubadan has recorded many achievements.
Adedeji specifically explained that the military experience of the monarch has been put to good use and can be observed in the way the Olubadan was running the affairs of West Africa’s largest city, noting that Ibadan now enjoyed peace over a year he began his reign.
“I want to congratulate specially my own father as he attains the age of 90. From a tender age, I have been part of the capital city and even when I am away from it, I monitor development and progress because, in my own little way, I am a stakeholder and Ibadan will continue to be home.
“From tackling security issue to engaging indigenes and influential residents on the development of Ibadan, Baba Olakulehin is making Ibadan the pride of all.
“Any keen observer would notice that Baba’s military background has assisted greatly in taming social vices and youth restiveness within and around Ibadan.
“The recently-held Egungun Festival, which used to be characterised by violence, went on peacefully. Baba, through his council and other support staff, has continued to work for a better Nigeria.
“As Baba turns 90, I wish him the very best and a prosperous Ibadan under his leadership. I also assure that he would continue to have my support,” the FIRS boss added in the statement.
