NCC Chairman Facilitates Digital Nigeria Centre For Government College, Ibadan
The chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has facilitated a Digital Nigeria Centre (DNC) for Government College, Ibadan (GCI), Oyo State.
Digital Nigeria Centre is a programme by the Federal Government to improve learning and research by promoting the connection of government schools across the country to the broadband.
The programme includes the provision of desktops, teacher laptops, reburfishment of ICT Lab, including electrical, mechanical and civil works and furniture for the ICT Lab.
It also makes provisions for learning software, access to internet, solar energy and technical and maintainance support to beneficiary schools.for one year.
Managed by the Universal Service Provider Fund (USPF), an arm of the NCC, DNC is established primarily to facilitate the achievement of the national policy goals for universal access and universal service to Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in rural, unnserved and undeserved areas in Nigeria.
