Evergreen Musical Lightens Up Lagos With Over 50 Live Bands
Foremost promoters of indigenous African music, Evergreen Musical Company Limited, has declared that it will soon set the entertainment scene in Lagos State agog with the assemblage of over 50 live bands.
The Managing Director of the company, Miss Bimbo Esho, made the disclosure in a release, adding that the expected live bands will feature in the proposed Eko Evergreen LiveBand Challenge.
She said the people and residents of Lagos State, especially music lovers, will have a night to remember, noting that “Lagos is known for its unique selling point of entertainment, hospitality and tourism in Africa.”
She also disclosed that the event is aimed at achieving two sons namely, to reposition the live bands in the world of music and to restore the music culture of old back in Lagos.
While still keeping the date of the event under wraps, Esho told the Newscoven.ng that underground works are ongoing and assured that the venue and date would be unveiled at a press conference to herald the event.
“Evergreen Musical Company Limited, one of Nigeria’s cultural entertainment outfit, reputed globally for promotion and preservation of timeless works of Nigerian nay African musicians, is promising lovers of live bands across the Lagos metropolis a night to remember with the latest programme in their event catalogue.
“The Eko Evergreen Liveband Challenge is a cultural product that will reposition various live bands on the musical world stage, while bringing back the glorious past of Lagos band culture,” the Managing Director of Evergreen Musical Company Limited said.
Esho, who has been dining and wining with different bands across different ethnic groups in Nigeria over a period of 25 years, said the event will create fresh windows of opportunities and exposure for upcoming live bands and old veterans whom many believe are retired but not tired.
“This epoch-making event, which will be taking place at one of Nigeria’s one stop event destination places, promises to be fun-packed with winners to be awarded with various music giveaways and cash prices,” she further said.
