Indigenes of Ogun State in the Diaspora are drumming support for the second term bid of the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
The indigenes of the state living abroad, under the aegis of the ‘Ogun State Diasporans’, are trooping in to the country to support the governor, ahead the March election.
This was contained in a statement by the coordinator of the group, Engineer Oluyemi Ogundele.
He disclosed that the group is planning a “Mega 4+4 Rally” by mid-January to officially endorse the duo of Governor Abiodun MFR and his deputy, Engineer Noimot Salako-Oyedele, for a second term.
He said there was also a plan to launch a campaign song composed and produced by a Sweden-based artist and music producer, Prince Ajani, in support of the governor’s second term bid.
Ogundele said members of the group have started trooping into the country from all over the world. Majority of them, he said, are from Europe and America.
According to him, there is no alternative to Prince Dapo Abiodun who he said has turned the Gateway State to the envy of all others.
He highlighted some of the achievements of the governor. These, Ogundele said, included massive infrastructural development the state is enjoying currently, and several roads constructions.
Ogundele listed the roads to include the Ijebu-Epe Expressway;Atan-Lusada-Agbara Road; Sagamu-Abeokuta Road; Ilaro-Owode Road; and Agro-Cargo Airport, Iperu-Ilishan.
“Other success stories includes high level of youth’s empowerment projects, increase in numbers of foreign investors in the state and many others,” he added.
As contained in the statement, one of the leaders of the group, Chief Daniel Dada (Maiyegun) from Republic of Ireland, said no stone should be left unturned to ensure the victory of Governor Abiodun and all the APC candidates in the forthcoming elections.
The ‘Ogun State Diasporans’ is a group that is said to be enjoying the support of the Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Dr Abike Dabiri Erewa.
The group is also said to be strongly supporting the candidature of Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the APC as the next president of the country.
Another leader of the group, Mr Abiodun Oyebola, is the current President of NIDO, Sierra Leone, and also doubles as the coordinator of “Grande Diasporal Support For BAT”, a group in the forefront of flying Senator Tinubu’s flag in the Diaspora.
