Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), also known as petrol, produced by Dangote Refinery Limited (DRL) will sell for ₦1,019:22 per litre in Borno State, while the lowest rate will be ₦950:22 per litre in Lagos State.
The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) stated this in the estimated prices of PMS (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) across NNPCL retail stations across the country.
NNPCL Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Olufemi Soneye, stated in a release on Monday that the prices were based on the September 2024 pricing by Dangote Refinery.
NNPCL did a breakdown of the prices of PMS per litre from Dangote Refinery as obtainable in each state of the Federation as follows:
₦1,019:22 per litre (Borno, Yobe, Gombe and Adamawa states); ₦999.22 (Kaduna, Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi, Plateau, Katsina, Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara states).
₦992:22 per litre (FCT, Niger, Nasarawa, Kogi and Benue states); ₦980:22 per litre (Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa, Akwa, Cross River, Edo, Imo, Ebonyi, Enugu, Abia and Anambra states).
The Dangote PMS will sell for ₦960:22 per litre in the south-western states of Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti states, NNPCL further disclosed.
“The NNPCL also wishes to state that, in line with the provisions of the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA), PMS prices are not set by Government, but negotiated directly between parties on an arm’s length.
“The NNPCL can confirm that it is paying Dangote Refinery in USD for September 2024 PMS offtake, as naira transactions will only commence on October 1st, 2024.
“The NNPCL assures that if the quoted pricing is disputed, it will be grateful for any discount from the Dangote Refinery, which will be passed on 100 per cent to the general public.
“Attached to this statement are the estimated pump prices of PMS (obtained from the Dangote Refinery) across NNPC Retail Stations across the country, based on September 2024 pricing,” Soneye stated in the release.
