Senator Sharafadeen Alli has pledged to support the Certified institute of Auctioneers of Nigeria (CIAN) to move forward and attain greatness.
He made the pledge while receiving a delegation from CIAN, led by its Registrar and Chief Executive Officer, Adeleke Hassan, who paid him a congratulatory visit in Ibadan.
The federal lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District is a distinguished fellow of the CIAN.
On the delegation were the chairman, Dr. Deji Akinso and vice-chairman Mr Babatunde Adejumo, among others.
Senator Alli expressed delight to be part of CIAN and urged the institute to uphold ethical standards and be more focused on attaining greater heights.
The lawmaker promised to do all he can to move the institute forward, urging its members to remain committed to the greatness of the institute.
Earlier, the CIAN team said the visit was to congratulate Senator Alli and identify with him on his victory at the polls.
The CIAN delegation expressed confidence in Alli, describing him as a pragmatic leader and goal-getter, who will never let his constituents down.
The team thanked Senator Alli for his hospitality and wished him a successful tenure of office.
The Certified Institute of Auctioneers of Nigeria is the centre of expertise in Nigeria for all matters relating to auctions and auctioneering.
CIAN was established to provide professional qualifications of highest standards through its training courses and seminars.
It also engage in sharing of experiences, ideas and development of contacts between members nationally and other auctioneers’ institutes around the globe.
The institute places great emphasis on education and on its task of recruiting and preparing people for a career in auctioneering.
Among other objectives, CIAN sets the professional standard, trains and educates individuals, as the case may be, in the act of auctioneering practise in Nigeria.
It also provides proficiency training for auctioneers and award trainees with proficiency certificate.
It also sought to make auctioneering a teaching subject and course of study in Nigerian universities and polytechnics.
CIAN also sought to participate in national affairs by making representation to government at all levels for the common good of the auction industry and national prosperity.
