Senator Sharafadeen Alli has described the appointment of Dr Zacchaeus Adedeji as acting Chairman of Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) as a testimony to his outstanding track record as a public service.
He stated this in a congratulatory message to Adedeji, who is also the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Revenue, on his new appointment.
The senator representing Oyo South Senatorial District also noted that the appointment was in recognition of the contributions of Adedeji to national growth and development.
Alli, in the statement he personally signed, said Adedeji, as Special Adviser to the President, has exhibited a high level of competence, dexterity and commitment in the discharge of his duties.
The federal lawmaker said his appointment as acting Chairman of FIRS, a critical institution in revenue generation and management of Nigeria’s resources, was well-deserved.
“We hereby congratulate Dr. Zacchaeus Adedeji on his recent appointment as the acting Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS).
“This appointment is not just a testament to his outstanding track record in public service but also a recognition of his immense contributions towards national growth and development,” he said.
Alli, the Senate Committee Chairman on INEC, said Adedeji possessed the requisite knowledge, skills and experience to steer the affairs of FIRS.
The lawmaker expressed confidence in Adedeji’s capability to further strengthen the FIRS capacity towards achieving its mandate of revenue collection and administration.
He said the appointment was coming at a time when Nigeria needed individuals with deep sense of professionalism and integrity to manage critical institutions such as FIRS.
He wished Adedeji successful tenure as the acting Chairman of FIRS, and expressed confidence that under his leadership, the agency would achieve greater heights.
Senator Alli assured that FIRS, under Adedeji, would contribute immensely towards the growth and development of the country.
