Senator Sharafadeen Alli (APC-Oyo South) has called for the implementation of fair wages for workers across the state as they celebrate the 2025 Workers’ Day.
The lawmaker extended greetings and appreciation to all workers and commended their resilience, dedication and unwavering contributions to the development of the state as well as Nigeria.
Senator Alli, in a statement issued by his Media Office on Thursday in Ibadan, Senator Alli acknowledged the invaluable roles workers play in driving growth and sustaining critical sectors, despite numerous economic challenges.
The lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District described them as the backbone of the state’s progress and commended their commitment to excellence.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) noted that the 2025 Workers’ Day celebration was a reminder of the need to continually improve the welfare, safety and rights of workers.
Senator Alli urged government at all levels to prioritise policies that will foster decent work conditions, fair wages and opportunities for professional development.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the interests of workers through progressive legislation, continuous engagement and support for initiatives that promote sustainable employment as well as economic justice.
Senator Alli called on workers to remain steadfast, hopeful and united in the face of challenges, expressing his wishes for a peaceful and rewarding Workers’ Day celebration for all.
