The South-West zone of the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) will, on Thursday, hold a road walk in Lagos, as part of its efforts towards ridding the state of crime.
As contained in a release, the walk, which will kick off at 8a.m., will start from the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja.
It will go through the Computer Village-Medical Road-Airport Road-Bolade Oshodi-Oshodi Under Bridge-Mushin Market-Idioro Market-Ojuelegba (Area C Command)-CMS (Apongbon)-Marina-CMS, ending at Zone 2 Police Command Headquarters.
The walk will be hosted by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Lagos, AIG Fayoade Adegoke; the state Commissioner of Police, Moshood Olohundare Jimoh; the state chairman of POCACOV, Dr Moses Oladimeji and others.
Themed: “Unity Movement Against All Crimes in South-West States,” the South-West chairman, Ambassador Samuel Eniola Adams, said the walk is aimed at taking the mind of Nigerians, particularly youths, away from social vices.
POCACOV, an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, Dr Kayode Egbetokun, is a preventive policing system to help youths focus on positive attitudes and desist from crimes and other vices.
The targeted social vices included, among others, cultism, armed robbery, ritual killing, fraud, kidnapping and illicit drug taking.
