The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) will, on Saturday, hold a special event in Lagos to commemorate 2025 Children’s Day and celebrate the rights, potentials and dreams of the Nigerian children.
The event by POCACOV, an initiative of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, is themed “For Every Child, Every Right.”
The celebration will take place at the Police College, Oba Akinjobi Way, Ikeja, Lagos, starting at 10:00 am.
The National Coordinator of the initiative, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, stated in a release that the programme would be a day of fun-filled and impactful activities.
Activities lined up to mark the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, she stated, included speeches, quizzes, debates, games, and a host of other exciting events.
Okuwobi noted that the activities were aimed at educating and entertaining children while promoting values of peace, unity, and self-worth.
“This event is open to specially invited schools with no gate fee, and is curated to foster a sense of belonging and raise awareness about the rights of every Nigerian child.
“POCACOV, under the leadership of the Inspector General of Police, continues to champion the cause of youth engagement, crime prevention, and nation-building.
“The initiative aimed to achieve these through constructive programmes, including sensitisation, lectures, vocational skill acquisition and games,” she added in the statement.
