Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr Aminu Maida, will speak at the inaugural meeting of the International Institute of Communications (IIC) Africa Chapter, taking place on 29 January, 2026.
Also on the panel of speakers at the IIC Africa Chapter inaugural meeting is Abdul-Hakeem Ajijola, among other stakeholders and experts on cybersecurity, digital policy and regulation.
The meeting is aimed at discussing the evolving cyber security landscape across the African Continent.
Discussions will be on development of coherent regulatory and policy frameworks, as well as on strategies to foster cross-sector and cross-border collaboration in response to emerging digital threats.
The virtual session, which will take place from 09:00 to 10:30 GMT, 10:00 to 11:30 WAT, and 11:00 to 12:30 CAT, will also focus on high-level discussions aimed at strengthening cybersecurity in Africa.
The meeting will further explore the opportunities and challenges involved in building effective cybersecurity frameworks in the continent.
The IIC Africa Chapter noted that the engagement formed part of its broader commitment to advancing dialogue on cyber resilience, connectivity, digital policy, and regulation across Africa.
