Senator Sharafadeen Alli has assured his constituents in Oyo South Senatorial District of quality representation in the 10th Senate.
He gave the assurance while speaking at a party held at the Recreation Club, Ibadan today (Saturday) to mark his inauguration as a senator.
Senator Alli was inaugurated on 13 June, 2023 as the lawmaker representing Oyo South Senatorial District in the 10th National Assembly, having won the senatorial election on 25 February.
He said the inauguration party was the first ever held by an elected senator in the state, promising that that of Ibarapa zone would hold at Igbo-Ora on July 9.
The lawmaker assured constituents and the people of the state to expect quality representation from him at the National
Assembly.
He said he would not relent in ensuring that the people of the district enjoy democratic dividends, while unleashing unprecedented programmes.
Senator Alli thanked the prominent personalities from across the state who were present at the event for their love, promising not to let them down.
The lawmaker thanked a former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, and a host of other party chieftains as well as supporters for their contributions to his victory during the electionm
He prayed that all their support, hope, aspiration and prayers for Folarin will come to fruition.
“Without you, our leaders, supporters, traders, artisans, elders, youths and other professionals, we won’t be here today. We thank you and will continue to do our best for you all,” Senator Alli said.
A prayer session was earlier held at the same venue for the parents of Senator Alli, his family, political leaders and associates.
Senator Alli, a former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, former chairman, Ibadan North Local Government Area and former chairman, O’dua Investment Company Limited, is the Maye-Balogun of Ibadanland.
Gathered to honour Senator Alli at the party were gladiators from the state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), among several other dignitaries across the state.
Among the dignitaries were two former deputy governors in the state, Chief Iyiola Oladokun and Chief Moses Adeyemo.
Also in attendance were APC senatorial chairman (Oyo South), Alhaji Mojeed Olaoya, Alhaji Abu Gbadamosi, Chief Francis Babalola, Dr Isiaka Kolawole, Prince Niran Adeyoju and Chief Omilabu Ghandi.
Among Ibadan traditional chiefs present were High Chief Amidu Ajibade, Ekerin-Olubadan of Ibadanland; Oloye Lekan Alabi, Maye-Olubadan of Ibadanland; and Chief Abiola Arulogun, Bada-Balogun of Ibadanland.
Others were Alhaji Ademola Alli and his wife, Oyeyemi; Alhaji Abiola Alli, President, Omo Ajorosun Club! Mr Tunji Olanipekun and Chief Ademola Babalola, chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council.
