Akande Urges Muslims To Emulate Prophet Mohammed
Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has admonished Muslim faithful to emulated Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) in dealing with their fellow human beings.
The professor of Comparative Politics gave the admonition in a statement to felicitate with Muslims on the occasion of this year’s birthday of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Akande urged the entire Muslim Ummah to reflect on the life and times of the Prophet as a messenger of Allah and a statesman per excellence, his humility, kindness and love for humanity as one family under Allah and exhibit same in their daily interactions with fellow humans.
He said: “Prophet Muhammad was an exemplary leader who combined spiritual and communal roles together without any hitch. He was a good family man who lived in peace with his neighbours.
“One of the virtues of Prophet Muhammad which stood him out among his peers even before he got the call as a Prophet of Allah was his trustworthiness.
“This earned him the name Al-ameen, the Trustworthy. This and many others are enough qualities to emulate by the Youth of nowadays for them to become great future leaders,” he added.
Professor Akande also stressed the need for the Nigerian youths not to allow any obstacle to stand as impediments on their way to greatness.
“Prophet Muhammad (phuh) was not born with a silver spoon. His parents were not among the aristocrats in Makkah but he did not allow all these to serve as stumbling blocks to achieve his vision and mission.
“Rather, he pursued his goals in life which was the propagation of the message of Islam without bitterness towards anyone,” Akande submitted.
