Chief Adebayo Adelabu, the former Minister of Power, has been assured by the Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, that the state government is working hard to rescue his kidnapped sister and her two sons.
He gave the assurance when he paid a visit, on Friday, to sympathise with the former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and his family over the kidnap incident.
When Was Adelabu’s Sister Kidnapped?
Recall that armed gunmen, at the early hour of Wednesday, abducted Mrs Busayo John-Paul, a 43-year-old younger sister of the CBN Deputy Governor, along with her twin sons in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The victims were reportedly abducted at about 7:30 a.m. around the Challenge Area while Mrs John-Paul was taking her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, to school in a wine colour Hyundai Sonata.
Governor Makinde said his visit to the Oyo APC governorship aspirant was meant to brief him on what the government has been doing to ensure the safe return of his sister and her sons.
Addressing newsmen after the visit, the Oyo State governor said: “You are all aware of what happened to the younger sister of my dear brother, Oloye Adebayo Adelabu.
“I actually came to brief him on what the government has been doing regarding that incident.
“My visit is also to let him know that by the grace of God, we will bring her and her sons back.”
