The newly-installed Mogaji of Aliiwo Ruling House, Prince Kamaldeen Adeboye Giwa, has declared that he bore no grudge against anybody in the course of the journey to becoming the head of the ruling house.
He described the delay in installing him as the mogaji, which led to controversy between the family and Olubadan Advisory Council a couple of weeks ago, as part of leadership sacrifice to prepare him for the future.
The United Kingdom (UK)-based Mogaji of the ruling house of the immediate past Olubadan of Ibadanland, the late Oba Lekan Balogun, stated this shortly after his installation on Monday.
Mogaji Giwa stressed that the delay of his installation, no doubt, strained him, moving in and out of his base, but, he maintained that he bore no grudge against anybody over the incident.
The newly-installed mogaji explained that all what happened would not in anyway affect the unity of the Aliiwo Family, stating that he was ready to embrace and work with all.
“We are one indivisible family, irrespective of our differences and, as a family of warriors by our forefathers, nothing untoward really happened in the struggle for the headship of the family.
“Anybody conversant with our history would appreciate that what recently happened was a child’s play compared to what happened when our revered father, the late Olubadan, Oba Dr. Sen. Lekan Balogun, CFR, Alli Okumade II was to become mogaji.
“The matter then got to court. Yet, as tough and tense as the situation was then, the entire sons and daughters still put it behind them and came together.
“So, what has happened now that we would cling to as if the world is coming to an end? The larger and communal interest of our dynasty is our concern and that is what we shall strive to protect and preserve.
“I am sure nobody among us is nursing anything outside of that and we are going to jointly pursue that goal,” he added.
Mogaji Giwa expressed appreciation to the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi, Ige Olakulehin I and members of the Olubadan Advisory Council for his installation after the little hitch suffered earlier.
He also pledged his unalloyed loyalty to the Olubadan Stool and the entire Ibadan traditional institution.
The new mogaji also promised to adhere strictly to all the admonitions given during the installation and restated his commitment to Ibadan cause in terms of growth and development.
The Mogaji of Aliiwo also assured that he would not engage in anything whatsoever that could tarnish the good image of Ibadanland.
He expressed gratitude to the entire members of the Aliiwo Family, both at home and in the diaspora for their solidarity and commitment to his installation.
Mogaji Giwa promised that none of them would regret the confidence reposed in him just as he solicited for their support, cooperation and advice towards enhancing the position, both at the family and at the Olubadan Palace levels.
