This followed the setting up of a special investigative team by the Lagos State Police Command to unravel the circumstances of his death.
The update was contained in a release by the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Idowu Owohunwa.
The Lagos Police boss stated that the essence of the investigative team on the death of MohBad is in the overriding public interest.
He disclosed that the team will unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of MohBad, identify witnesses, culprits and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process.
He also stated that processes and other technological tools would be deployed to aid the investigative course in line with the relevant provisions of the Nigerian Constitution.
“Following the death of one Ileri Oluwa Oladimeji AKA Mohbad, ‘M’, aged 27yrs which occurred in the month of September 12th 2023,
“And in the overriding public interest, the Command has set up a special investigative team to unravel the circumstances surrounding the death of the victim.
“[It will] identify witnesses, culprits if any and any person that will be helpful to the investigative process and deploy processes and other technological tools to aid the investigative course in line with the relevant provisions of the Nigerian Constitution.
The Lagos Police boss stated that the term of reference of the special investigative team include exhumation of the body of MohBad for autopsy/toxicology/histology.
He added that the team will visit the scene of the death; check for hospital/medical report on the death of MohBad and also get the records of suspects/witnesses.
The special police investigative team is expected to submit its interim report within two weeks after the commencement of the investigation.
The investigative team is further divided into legal team and forensic team.
Members of the special investigation team on the MohBad case include Det. ACP Saheed Kassim (Head of the team); Det. CSP Cris Onyeisi; Det. SP Masta Alh. Bunu; and Det. SP Ibrahim A. Yusuf.
Other are Det. DSP Ahmed Abdullahi; Det. ASP Oderinde Galfar; Det. ASP Alabi Bolanle; Det. ASP Mohammed Yusu; Det Inspectors Adesida Adefisayo; Aneh Michael; Oisa Roseline, Ayowa Owoeye and Babatunde Victor.
The legal team include SP Cardoso Yetunde Esq (OC Legal); DSP Umar Bello Esq (Legal Officer); and ASP Augustine Nwabuisi (Legal Officer).
The forensic team has as its members Det. CSP Ayiti Akpama (Team Leader); and Det. Inspectors Elizabeth Olokode and Queen Agofure.
Ileri Oluwa Oladimeji, aka MohBad (aged 27) died in a mysterious circumstance, last Tuesday, drawing public outcries.
Fingers are being pointed at some of his colleagues in the music industry and also his close friends and associates.
