Honourable Aderemi Oseni has declared that the All Progressives Congress (APC) must take back Oyo State in 2027 in order to ensure closer alignment between the state and the Federal Government.
Oseni, a member of the House of Representatives, representing Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency, added that an APC victory in the 2027 governorship election would attract increased developmental attention from the centre to the state.
The federal lawmaker stated these when he led thousands of APC members from Ido Local Government Area in a solidarity rally for the second term ambition of President Bola Tinubu.
The rally, held on Saturday at Apata, Ibadan, also witnessed the formal inauguration of the Ido Local Government Area chapter of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF).
He expressed a firm belief that Oyo State and its people would benefit more with the APC in control at both state and federal levels.
According to him, the continued governance by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo had hampered the state’s ability to fully access Federal Government interventions.
He further stressed that a political realignment to the centre is key to unlocking greater democratic dividends for residents.
Oseni therefore urged party members and supporters to intensify grassroots mobilisation in preparation for the 2027 general election.
He described President Tinubu as the most capable leader to steer Nigeria forward, citing the administration’s developmental strides over the past two years as evidence of meaningful progress.
“ROCOF isn’t just another political structure; it represents a movement focused on building support for the APC and advancing the re-election project of President Tinubu.
“Our goals go beyond crowd numbers. We’re promoting a governance culture rooted in fairness, transparency, justice, and accountability.
“This initiative marks a renewed commitment to engaging the grassroots and reigniting the dominance of APC in Oyo State.
“With God’s grace, we are not just returning to power, we are returning with renewed strength and purpose in 2027,” he said.
He said staying in opposition has limited the state’s access to federal opportunities, making it critical for the APC to reclaim the state and work in synergy with the Tinubu-led Federal Government.
“The time has come for unity within our ranks. The people are watching and counting on us to lead.
“We have the backing of our traditional institutions and the strong support of market men and women, who form a critical part of our political foundation,” he said.
Oseni added that true development in areas such as infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, and industry can only be achieved through close collaboration with the centre, which a state-federal political alignment would guarantee.
Oseni also launched an economic empowerment drive for small-scale entrepreneurs, disbursing ₦50 million to traders in the constituency to boost small businesses and strengthen local enterprise.
