Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi has commenced the filling of potholes on Akanran, Ibadan-Ijebu Boundary Road with the delivery of over 40 trucks of stone base for the commencement of the rehabilitation work.
The gesture is another remarkable show of commitment to grassroots development, by Sanusi, the Ajia Olubadan Designate and Chairman of Ilaji Hotel and Sports Resort.
The latest flagging off the second phase of road rehabilitation along the Ariyo-Akanran-Dagbolu axis extending to the Ibadan-Ijebu, Ogun State boundary was a demonstration of his philanthropic leadership.
It was coming weeks after initiating the first phase of the pothole-filling operation from Ariyo Bridge to the front of the Ona Ara Local Government Area Secretariat.
The new phase covered the stretch from the Secretariat’s opposite flank down to Dagbolu, bringing huge relief to commuters and residents in the area.
Community members and passersby were seen expressing gratitude and offering prayers as the work commenced.
The Alararomi of Araromi-Aperin, Oba Mudashiru Obisesan, hailed Chief Sanusi’s gesture as a symbol of genuine leadership, praising him for, once again, prioritising the welfare of the people over personal interest.
“This kind of intervention shows that Ilaji Boss is not only thinking about business or politics—he is also thinking about the people,” Oba Obisesan said.
It was gathered that the development effort aligns with Chief Sanusi’s broader vision to transform infrastructural development across rural and underserved communities in Oyo State, ensuring better connectivity and ease of transport for economic growth.
Chief Sanusi restated his commitment to doing more. “Development is not seasonal. It’s a continuous service to humanity. When roads are better, lives are better,” he said.
