The Jubril Dotun Sanusi (JDS) Support Group has formed a strategic alliance with the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF), a loyal base of supporters of Hon. Remi Oseni, representing Ido/Ibarapa Federal Constituency and Chairman of the House Committee on FERMA.

The groundbreaking move ahead of the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State signaled the final decision of Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi to withdraw from the governorship contest.

The meeting between the JDS Support Group and ROCOF was held at the Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Ibadan.

It drew influential stakeholders, including the state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), all 33 local government CAN coordinators, zonal leaders, market traders and other key leaders of the JDS Group.

Chief Sanusi, the Jagun Olubadan of Ibadanland and leader of the JDS Group, addressed the gathering, expressing his admiration for what he described as the outstanding representation of Oyo State by Hon Oseni.

He described Oseni as one of the most effective federal lawmakers in the state, emphasising his dedication to service and developmental strides.

Chief Sanusi called for a united front between the JDS Support Group and ROCOF to achieve their shared vision for the 2027 gubernatorial race.

He also urged Oseni to remain steadfast in engaging stakeholders, while trusting God and the electorate for success.

The state CAN Chairman reaffirmed association’s confidence in the leadership of Chief Sanusi and commended his decision to partner with Hon. Oseni.

He described the collaboration as a bold step toward a brighter and more prosperous Oyo State and encouraged grassroots support for their collective vision.

Market traders were also represented by Iyaloja Saratu Aduke Konibaje, who praised the tireless commitment of Chief Sanusi to the welfare and economic growth of Oyo State.

She reaffirmed the unwavering support of market traders for his ambition, attributing it to his consistent advocacy and care for their well-being.

Responding, Hon. Remi Oseni expressed deep gratitude for the partnership and the confidence reposed in him and ROCOF by Chief Sanusi and the JDS Group.

He emphasised the importance of unity in achieving development, sharing his personal journey as a proud son of the Bogumbe Family from Akufo, Ibadanland.

The federal lawmaker pledged to remain loyal to the shared vision of Chief Sanusi and work tirelessly for the benefit of Oyo State.

To demonstrate their commitment to grassroots development, Hon. Oseni announced a ₦50 million loan scheme for Oyo State market traders.

The initiative, aimed at empowering small businesses, will be coordinated by Iyaloja Saratu Aduke Konibaje as a starting point for broader collaboration.

The meeting ended with prayers and goodwill messages from all participants, reinforcing the shared determination of the JDS Group and ROCOF to drive progress and transformation in Oyo State as the 2027 elections draw closer.
