Olugbon of Orile-Igbon, Oba Francis Olushola Alao, has commended the Board of Directors of Bayer AG, Germany for appointing Mrs Toyin Saraki as a member of its Sustainability Council.
The German global brand is a multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company reputed for its high quality products which are acclaimed across the world.
Mrs Saraki, who is the wife of a former two-time governor of Kwara State and former Senate President, Bukola Saraki, was offered the prestigious appointment earlier in July.
In his congratulatory message, the Olugbon described the appointment as well-deserved, noting that it was a recognition of Mrs Saraki’s capacity for excellent service and commitment to global best practices.
“This prestigious appointment is a welcome development. It is another testament to Your Honour’s well recognised capacity to render excellent service in leadership as well as a recognition of your commitment to global best practices in national and international assignments.
“This did not come as a surprise to me given your demonstration of these sterling qualities in your past private sector, state and national assignments.
“Your passion for the well being of individuals, families and the community motivated you to establish the Wellbeing Foundation Africa many years ago.
“And as the president of the Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), you have poured yourself to activities and projects that uplift the well being of many people, families and communities. Your activities as a healthcare advocate and philanthropist are notable.
“I am confident that the godly wisdom that you are blessed with will help you offer outstanding performance in this new role still.
“On behalf of the people of Orile-Igbon, Surulere Local Government of Oyo State and my family, accept my congratulations,” the Olugbon stated in the statement.
