Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, Ige Olakulehin I, mogajis and baales in Ibadanland to avoid involvement in land dispute matters.
Oba Olakulehin gave the warning during the installation of six new mogajis and five baales, held on Monday at the Olubadan Palace, Oke Aremo, Ibadan.
The six newly-installed mogajis were Mr. Adeyemi Sikiru Soladoye, (Mogaji Apabiekun Family, Ita-Olukoyi, Labo area); Mr. Kazeem Akinro (Mogaji of Oluyege Family, Oje Eleni) and Alhaji Ganiyu Abiola Jimoh Odegbemi (Mogaji of Odugbemi Family, Agbede Adodo area).
The other new mogajis were Alhaji Ahmed Ishola Olohuntoyin (Mogaji of Akinsinde Akindawonru compound, Idikan area) and Surveyor Owolabi Olanrewaju Adedeji (Mogaji of Otin family, Idi Arere area).
The new baales included Dr. Adegboyega Moshood Makinde (Baale of Olokuta Village in Oluyole Local Government Area) and Chief Mufutau Abonde (Baale of Mokola Community in Ibadan North Local Government Area).
Others were Prince Oderinlo Ismael Adedolapo Ajani (Baale of Isebo Village in Egbeda Local Government Area) and Mr. Rasaki Afeez Temitope (Baale of Orankan Balogun Village in Akinyele Local government Area).
Olubadan, who spoke through the Ashipa Olubadan, Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, warned the newly-installed mogajis and baales to avoid land dispute matters and be of good conduct in their respective domains.
Speaking further, Olubadan noted that the new mogajis and baales are the representatives of the Olubadan and the Olubadan-in-Council and should mind their behaviours and avoid tarnishing the image of Ibadanland.
“I admonish the newly-installed mogajis and baales to be of good conduct as they have become representatives of the Olubadan and his council in their respective domains.
“I urge you to embrace peace and understanding in dealing with your respective families and communities. Take note that the honour being bestowed on you. If abused, it can be withdrawn,” Olubadan said.
The event was witnessed by members of Olubadan-in-Council, including Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland; Oba Tajudeen Abimbola Ajibola, Balogun of Ibadanland and Oba Eddy Oyewole-Foko, Osi Olubadan of Ibadanland;
Others were Oba Olubunmi Dada-Isioye, Osi Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Abiodun Kola-Daisi, Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadanland; Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland and High Chief Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland.
Other dignitaries also present at the event included mogajis, baales, religious leaders, traders, artisans and traditional office holders, as well as numerous well-wishers.
