Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba (Dr) Rashidi Ladoja, Arusa 1, has again warned land-grabbers to stay away from the ancient city or be prepared to face the full wrath of the law.
Oba Ladoja issued the warning shortly after a land dispute settlement meeting held at the Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, Ibadan, on Monday
The Ibadan paramount traditional ruler stated in a press release by his Chief Press Secretary, Chief Ayoade Olugbemiga, that he was not happy with the activities of land-grabbers.
“I am not happy with the activities of the land-grabbers in Ibadan ranging from threat, intimidation, and beating to the forceful seizure of the land from the rightful land owners,” he stated.
Olubadan solicited the support of all traditional rulers in Ibadanland and law enforcement agents to ensure that cases of land-grabbing were reduced to the barest minimum, if not totally eradicated.
According to the paramount ruler, Ibadan was founded for developmental projects, such as farming, establishment of industries, cultural and tourist centres for the benefit of all and sundry.
Present at the meeting were Oba Dauda Abiodun Azeez, the Ashipa Balogun of Ibadanland; Oba Akeem Mobolaji Adewoyin, the Ekerin Balogun of Ibadanland; Chief Lowo Obisesan Aare Alasa of Ibadanland, mogajis and baales, among others.
