The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in Ibadan, ICAN Oluyole & District Society has marked its first anniversary with impactful activities.
The one-year anniversary, which coincided with Nigeria’s 65th Independence Anniversary, was filled with pomp, pageantry, and acts of kindness extended to the immediate community.
According to the First Anniversary Committee Chairperson, Mrs. Tolulope Olatoyan, FCA, the activities line up to mark the first anniversary were aimed to make the celebration both meaningful and memorable.
The activities included:
Charity visit to Total Guidance Orphanage Home, Oluyole, where members donated food items, daily essentials, and cash gift to the less privileged children.
The visit and donations were done in the spirit of love and gratitude to God for a successful first year of establishment;
Commissioning of District Office: The grand opening of the new district office located in the Onireke area of Ibadan.
The ceremony was chaired by the past chairman of the Mother District and Managing Director of Evans Publishers Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Luqman Dauda, FCA.
In a special address commemorating the milestone, the District Convener, Mrs. Olaitan Babatunde, FCA; District Chairman, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Nwadike, FCA; and Vice Chairman, Dr. Olawale Dopemu, FCA, expressed deep appreciation to members for their dedication and the remarkable progress recorded in this one year.
A catch-them-young programme was entrenched in the home as part of a future plan by ICAN Oluyole to grow the accounting profession.
Enitan, a vibrant student of the home, emerged as a new student to be fully sponsored by the district all through the Accounting Technician Scheme West Africa (ATSWA) ICAN Examination.
Similarly, the management of Total Guidance Orphanage Home, represented by Mrs. Grace Akpan, expressed heartfelt gratitude to members of ICAN Oluyole & District Society for their thoughtful gesture.
Mrs Akpan offered prayers for continued growth and prosperity for the district.
The final leg of the celebration will be a special appreciation outing for members and well-wishers, scheduled to hold on Sunday, 19th October 2025 at the Mini Mapo Hall, Alesinloye, Ibadan, expected to be attended by several dignitaries.
