The Kiriji War Film is part of the efforts of the House of Oduduwa to consolidate on the decisions of the Yoruba to work and walk with one and another in peace and unity for the collective progress, growth and development of the people in accordance with the terms of the Yoruba Peace Treaty of September 23, 1886.
The film will be the first from the vast Film Village that the Kaabiyesi Onirisa is establishing in Ile Ife.
Ife, as the cradle of the Yoruba, will be home to artistic, creative innovative center, covering over 1000 hectares where Yorubas from all over the world can make award-winning films.
The Village Concept is one of the many efforts by His Imperial Majesty to re-establish the cultural and historical importance of the Yoruba as perhaps the oldest people in the world, as results of DNA are confirming.
At the meeting, the progress made on the project was reviewed.
The meeting approved the script that came out of the script conference attended by the late Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Adeyemi, the late Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Ogungunuso, Aare Latosa, Ogedengbe, Ajero, Owa of Ibokun and other obas whose predecessors were involved in the war.
The meeting also put in place a funding arrangement such that the Kiriji War Film, the planning of which the Kaabiyesi has been involved since his ascension, will hit the screens this year.
It will be recalled that the producer, Anike Obot, was the renown producer of Ayo Ni Mo Fe, and Jogunomi.
Dr Yemi Farounbi, who is the chairman of the production company, apart from being a celebrated broadcast manager and diplomat, was the producer of two celluloid films, Agbaarin and Iwa.
Farounbi was also behind many crowd pulling TV series, such as Arelu, Yanponyanrin, Omo Nu Oku, Agbeleku, and Igbo Olodumare, among others.
The producer, Anike Obot, confirmed that the production team, that consists of the very best in the industry, will soon be unveiled.
