The Federal College of Agriculture, Ibadan (FCAIB) has held a meeting with Kainiu Investment Nigeria Limited on a proposed partnership on tricycle device.
The meeting, held by the Management of FCAIB with the Director of Kainiu, Mr Olumuyiwa Adeyemo, dwelt extensively on a prospective partnership focused on the maintenance, marketing, and product enhancement of the Kainiu Tricycle Device.
As stated in a release by the FCAIB Head, Public Relations Unit, Mrs. Oyekemi Wilson, the Kainiu Tricycle Device is a locally-developed innovation designed for low fuel consumption, easy maintenance, strong frame, and durable structure.
The Provost of FCAIB, Professor Jonathan Atungwu, welcomed Mr Adeyemo to the premier agricultural institution in Nigeria and West Africa.
He expressed appreciation to Kainiu Investment Nigeria Limited for its interest in partnering with the College.
He also commended the Dean, School of Agricultural Management and Vocational Studies, Mr. Eyitayo Atilade Oluade, for facilitating the introduction of the proposal.
Professor Atungwu described the initiative as a significant innovation that aligns with FCAIB’s commitment to promoting green and sustainable agriculture.
He said the proposal reflected the vision of FCAIB supporting innovations that would enhance agricultural productivity, reduce operational costs, and strengthen the agricultural value chain, particularly in the area of efficient movement of inputs and outputs between farms and markets.
Professor Atungwu noted that such collaborations will create opportunities for applied research, student training, and technology transfer, which he said are essential to modern agricultural practice.
He assured that the FCAIB Management would carefully review the proposal for possible areas of collaboration that will further advance the institution’s mandate in agricultural training, research, and extension services.
Mr. Adeyemo, an indigene of the community and a proud advocate for local development, expressed his desire to collaborate with FCAIB as part of his commitment to giving back to his home, immediate community and contributing to agricultural advancement within his local government area.
The Kainiu Tricycle Device, a 3-ton capacity and an 18-litre fuel tank, is designed to support agricultural logistics through efficient transportation of farm inputs and outputs.
