Emir Bayero stated this on Monday when Senator Tinubu paid him a courtesy call when she was in Kano to inaugurate a Faculty of Law named after her at the Maryam Abacha American University.

The Emir of Kano said: “Senator Oluremi Tinubu, convey personally the message of the Palace that I said that the hardship, hunger and starvation people are facing in the country.

The Emir, who spoke in Hausa, said: “The hunger and starvation, though didn’t start with this government, but the situation has becomes more alarming and needs urgent attention.

“The issue of Insecurity is another serious problems we are facing. I know your government inherited it, but something more seriously should be done to takes care of the threats.”

Speaking further, the Emir of Kano added: “We are receiving series of messages from our people. One of such message is the much-talked about relocation of CBN and FAAN to Lagos.

“I think the government should come out clean on this matter and talk to Nigerians in the languages they would understand.

“Do more enlightenment on this matter. I for one cannot tell the actual intentions of the government. We should be made to actually understand why the relocation of the CBN and FAAN offices now to Lagos.”

The Emir of Kano however commended the First Lady for caring for the wellbeing and welfare of children.

He advised her to actualise her Renewed Hope Initiative Pet Programme, expressing the hope that it would free the less privileged from shackles of problems.

He also expressed worries about girl-child education and asked her to look at the issue critically and to make sure that it is tackled without much problems.

The Emir of Kano also commended her for supporting the people of Plateau State during the recent crises there and urged her to continue to reach out to the needy.

In her response, Senator Oluremi Tinubu informed the Emir of Kano that the present government, led by President Tinubu, is well aware of the present economic situation Nigerians were passing through.

She said the Federal Government has already taken the first step to address the food crisis by giving directive for immediate release of 102,000 metric tonnes of grain millet, rice and other essential items to alleviate the sufferings of Nigerians.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu also commended the people of Kano for their unalloyed support and the cooperation they always give her husband.

“I will no forget how the teeming masses of the state came out en- masse when President Tinubu visited the state during his presidential campaign,” she added.
