Prospective investors can now subscribe for the Dangote Refinery Initial Public Offer (IPO) through participating Moniepoint agents 24/7, thus expanding access to the public offer.
The latest initiative by the foremost oil refinery company was contained in a press release issued by the oil refinery company, on Wednesday.
Dangote IPO and Moniepoint agents
The initiative has thus taken the refinery’s IPO closer to millions of Nigerians who routinely use agency banking services, particularly individuals who may not ordinarily transact through conventional subscription channels.
Under the arrangement, prospective investors can visit participating Moniepoint agents at any time of the day to subscribe to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO through the approved process.
The shares, being offered at ₦525 each, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares, meant Nigerians can become prospective shareholders in the refinery with an investment of ₦5,250.
Investors were also permitted to subscribe multiple times, further widening the opportunity for individuals to build their holdings progressively during the offer period.
The introduction of the 24-hour agency channel represented another step towards broadening participation in the offer.
It also helped to lower some of the practical barriers that could prevent retail investors from accessing the capital market.
“Agency banking has become an important part of Nigeria’s financial infrastructure, bringing financial services closer to communities and individuals outside traditional banking and investment channels.
“Leveraging that network for the refinery offer potentially extends access to prospective investors across a wider geographical and socioeconomic spectrum,” it was stated in the release.
The development also reinforced the broader ownership philosophy behind the public offer, designed to give ordinary Nigerians an opportunity to acquire a stake in one of the country’s largest industrial assets.
Prospective subscribers using participating Moniepoint agents were required to complete their subscription through the approved process and retain their transaction receipts as evidence of the transaction.
“Details of their subscription would also be received via sms to their registered phone number,” it was added.
The company, however, advised investors to consult the offer prospectus for full information on the public offer and approved subscription channels.
“Prospective investors are also encouraged to consult their stockbrokers or financial advisers before making investment decisions.
“The prospectus and details of approved subscription channels are available through the Dangote Petroleum Refinery IPO portal, ipo.dangote.com,” it was stated.
With a minimum entry point of ₦5,250 and round the clock access through participating agency banking outlets, the latest initiative has effectively brought the refinery offer closer to the street, allowing a broader spectrum of Nigerians to participate in the ownership of the industrial asset.
Recalled that Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals FZE, on 14 September, 2026, commenced its IPO, a historic milestone in Nigeria’s economic development and the evolution of Africa’s capital markets.
The public offer was formally launched at a ceremony on the trading floor of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) in Lagos.
Dangote thus, for the first time, brought to the public an opportunity to own a stake in Africa’s largest refinery and one of the world’s most significant industrial projects.
The IPO consists of 4.1 billion new ordinary shares offered at ₦525 per share, with a minimum subscription of 10 shares valued at ₦5,250.
The offer was expected to remain open until October 13, 2026, subject to the terms outlined in the Prospectus.
The transaction was targeted at retail, institutional, and eligible African investors, reinforcing Dangote Refinery’s commitment to broadening ownership and deepening participation in Nigeria’s capital market.
The public offer was expected to raise approximately ₦2.15 trillion, making it one of the largest equity offerings ever undertaken in Africa.
The proceeds will support the Refinery’s long-term growth plans, operational expansion, strategic investments, and the creation of additional value for shareholders and stakeholders alike.
President/Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, spoke on the significance of the IPO in a press release, during its commencement.
“Today marks the beginning of a new chapter in the history of Dangote Refinery and, indeed, in the economic future of our nation.
“This offering is about more than raising capital; it is about creating an opportunity for ordinary Nigerians, Africans, and investors across the globe to participate directly in one of the most transformative industrial projects ever built on the continent.
“We established this refinery to transform Africa’s energy landscape, create jobs, conserve foreign exchange, and unlock shared prosperity.
“With this IPO, we are extending that vision by democratising ownership and ensuring that millions of people can benefit from the value being created.
“We believe that broad-based ownership is one of the most effective ways to build wealth, strengthen the capital market, and accelerate economic inclusion.
“We invite investors to join us as partners in building a globally competitive enterprise that will continue to shape the future of energy, manufacturing, and economic development in Africa,” he had stated.
