Mr Ademola Adeniyi, a veteran broadcaster, has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Ibadan, Oyo State-based radio station, Pensioners 106.7FM.
The appointment, which was approved by the station’s Governing Board, takes effect from today, Wednesday, July 1, 2026.

The appointment was conveyed in an official letter signed by the CEO/Managing Director of Pensioners 106.7FM who doubled as the Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Oyo State Council, Comrade Olusegun Abatan.
Adeniyi succeeded Mr Babatunde Tiamiyu, who voluntarily resigned from the position, effectively on 1 July, 2026.
The radio station, in a statement issued by the Management, described Adeniyi as a seasoned broadcast professional with more than 40 years of experience across the public and private broadcasting sectors.
Before his appointment, he was the Director of Programmes at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS).
He also made history as the pioneer General Manager of Parrot 101.1FM, Ogbomoso, where he was credited with making significant contributions to the growth and development of radio broadcasting.
The Board expressed confidence in the leadership abilities, industry experience and professional competence of its new General Manager.
It noted that his appointment would strengthen the station’s vision of delivering quality broadcasting, promoting professionalism and advancing the ideals of Pensioners 106.7FM, popularly known as “The Voice of Liberation.”
The Management, Board, staff and stakeholders of the radio station congratulated the veteran broadcaster, popularly known as “Kukulaja”, on his new appointment and wished him a successful and impactful tenure.
