Cute Abiola Is In Our Custody-Nigerian Navy
The Nigerian Navy has come out to clear the air on the reported missing of the popular comedian, Cute Abiola, declaring that he is in their custody for flouting some naval policies
Debunking the reported missing of the comedian, whose real name is Ahmed Abdulgafar, the Nigerian Navy, in a release, said he was taken into custody for breaking the Armed Forces policy on the Social Media.
The Instagram comedian was declared missing by his colleague, Mr Macaroni, on Monday, after which it was reposted by several colleagues and fans.
The Chief of Naval Staff, in the release, “Cute Abiola Is Not Missing”, signed by Commodore Suleman Dahun, said Cute Abiola was taken into custody for violating the policy of the Armed Forces and for his refusal to obey a particular order.
“The attention of the Nigerian Navy has been drawn to an online news story which claims that naval personnel, OSCOMP Abdugafar AA, who incidentally is a popular comedian known as Cute Abiola, has gone missing.
“The Nigeria Navy wishes to debunk the false news report currently trending online. OSCOMP Abdugafar is currently under custody in his unit for breaching the Armed Forces social media policy and refusal to obey a particular order.
“The Nigerian Navy wishes to avail itself of this incident to remind its personnel to comply with the provisions of the Armed Forces Social Media Policy in their usage of social media platforms.
“The policy, amongst others, is emplaced to protect their personal safety and security as well as the information integrity of the activities of the Armed Forces of Nigeria,” the press release stated.
Recalled that Cute Abiola was also arrested for taking pictures with his naval uniform and posting them on the social media on his birthday, last year.
