Akande Congratulates 91-Yr-Old SAN
Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Professor Adeolu Akande, has congratulated 91-year-old law lecturer, Professor Toriola Ajagbe Oyewo, on his elevation to the exalted status of a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Akande, in a statement, also rejoiced with the Oyo State chapter of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on the promotion of two other Ibadan-based lawyers, Kazeem Gbadamosi and Sina Ogungbade, to the position of SAN.
The professor of Comparative Politics said: “I am glad to felicitate with our erudite Professor of law, Pa Toriola Oyewo, on this great feat at a very advanced age.
“It is indeed a ray of hope for upcoming professionals that they can achieve their desired goal if only they remain focused in life.”
The NCC boss who is also a governorship hopeful on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, urged the youth not to allow any inhibition to dissuade them from their dreams.
According to him, “the story of Professor Oyewo is quite fascinating to me. He did not give up on his dream. Today, he has not only reached the peak of his career in academics, but also as a legal practitioner.
“I am sure Pa Oyewo, a great son of Ibadan, is fulfilled. I pray that God grant him more years to enjoy the fruits of his labour,” Akande, who is also a lawyer, said.
